Cookie Policy

The short version

We try to use as few cookies as possible. Our primary analytics tool (Plausible) is cookie-free and does not track you across the web. The tools that do set cookies (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity) only load after you accept them in the consent banner. If you decline, they never run and set nothing. This page lists exactly what each tool does and how to turn it off.

1. Consent comes first

On your first visit you see a cookie banner. Your choice is stored in your browser under a single entry called mr-cookie-consent (value accepted or declined). This is the only thing we set before you decide, and we set it only to remember your choice.

Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity are configured to load only if you accept. If you decline, their scripts are never injected, their domains are never contacted, and they cannot set any cookie. Declining is final until you clear site storage and revisit.

2. What each tool does

• Plausible — cookie-free, privacy-first analytics. It counts aggregate page views and basic events using a short-lived fingerprint in local storage, not cookies. It does not track you across other websites. Loaded unconditionally because it does not identify you.
• Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — loaded only after you accept. Sets cookies under _ga, _ga_* (e.g. a random client ID and a session cookie) to distinguish users and sessions on this site only. We use it to see which tools and pages are useful, and to count a successful purchase as a conversion.
• Microsoft Clarity — loaded only after you accept. Sets a cookie under CLID and a Clarity identifier to record anonymous session heatmaps and recordings. We use it to see where the UI is confusing. It does not collect personally identifying information.
• Vercel Analytics — first-party, cookie-free page-view counting run by our hosting provider. No cross-site tracking.

3. No advertising or cross-site tracking

MarginReality does not run ad networks, retargeting pixels, or any tracker that follows you to other websites. We do not sell or share the data from these tools for advertising purposes. The analytics above are used only to improve the product.

4. How to change or withdraw consent

The consent banner appears when no choice is stored. To change your mind, clear this site's storage in your browser (or remove the mr-cookie-consent entry) and reload — the banner will reappear. You can also block all third-party cookies in your browser settings; GA4 and Clarity simply will not load.
