Quick Answer
The MarginReality Weekly Profit Tracker is a free tool that lets Shopify merchants enter their weekly revenue, COGS, shipping, ad spend, and refunds, then compares the resulting net profit margin against an editorial-estimate range for their industry. It stores data only in the browser (localStorage) and exports to CSV. It's designed as a lightweight weekly habit; for a full per-order diagnosis, merchants run the Shopify CSV Profit Checker.
Want the full diagnosis?
This tracker shows your margin trend. To see exactly which orders, SKUs, and fees are dragging it down, upload your Shopify Orders CSV to the Profit Reality Score tool. One-time $9 unlock for the full report — no subscription.

Is this really free?
Yes. The weekly tracker is free with no account. You enter your numbers, see your net margin against your industry, and export to CSV anytime. If you later want a deep per-order diagnosis from your Shopify CSV, the full Profit Reality Score report is a $9 one-time unlock.
Where is my data stored?
Only in your browser (localStorage). Nothing is uploaded to a server. If you clear browser data or switch devices, your history is gone — so use Export CSV to keep a copy. We never see your numbers.
How is my industry benchmark calculated?
Each industry has a low-high-average net margin range, compiled as editorial estimates from public retail research, company filings, and practitioner experience — not a formal survey or a single store's data. Treat the range as a guide, not a precise measurement. See our methodology for the full disclosure.
Why track weekly instead of monthly?
Monthly averages hide drift. A refund rate creeping up or ad ROAS slipping shows up in weekly numbers weeks before it wrecks a monthly total. Weekly tracking catches the slide early, when it's cheap to fix.
What's the difference between this and the CSV Profit Checker?
This tracker is a lightweight weekly habit — you type in five numbers and see your margin trend. The CSV Profit Checker uploads your full Shopify Orders CSV and breaks down profit per order, per SKU, and gives a 0-100 Profit Reality Score. Use the tracker weekly; run the CSV check when you want the full diagnosis.
